Jihlava When you're on a driving holiday, you naturally want to get out and about, and in this respect the Czech Republic's oldest mining town, Jihlava, is a good bet. Here you'll find Jihlava Zoo, which has almost 200 exotic animals, including endangered species. The zoo is beautifully situated in a valley and is primarily known for their many large exotic predators.
In the centre of Jihlava you will find one of the largest squares in Europe - a huge medieval square from which you are just a few steps away from many other activities. Take an exciting walk through Jihlava's underground corridors, for example; catacombs, parts of which are believed to date back to the 14th century.
Visit the Jezek brewery, which produces the well-known and very popular Czech Jezek beer. Take a tour and get a taste. The brewery also has its own restaurant where you can have a nice authentic Czech lunch.
