Christmas market in Budapest

Christmas is becoming increasingly popular in Hungary's capital Budapest, where Christmas markets open as early as mid-November. The most famous of the Christmas markets takes place in Vörösmarty Square, located in the heart of Budapest. Here, traditional crafts go hand in hand with plenty of Hungarian Christmas dishes and, of course, nice hot mulled wine.

When you're tired, sit down and have a bite at the many benches and tables placed around the square, where you can enjoy, for example, the traditional cinnamon chimney cake or the delicious Hungarian honey cakes, while being entertained and fascinated by the many local choir concerts, folklore performances, book readings or Christmas shows for children.
