Take a trip to Sweden to the region in the southeast of the Swedish province of Scania.
Österlen has a lot of history and nature to offer and is therefore equally suitable for active holidays, such as hiking holidays, as well as for a relaxed family holiday.
Visit Stenshuvud National Park, explore Stone Age objects such as the Kivik Tomb and see the medieval Glimmingehus Castle.
Österlen is also called the Tuscany or the Provence of Sweden. Because of the beautiful lights and picturesque landscapes, many artists have settled here. Every year at Easter, they exhibit their works in the various villages in an “art round”.
In Österlen there are cozy fishing villages and rolling hills with cornfields. There is very good food throughout the region: fish (fresh or smoked), turkey, fruit and pastries. And surprisingly, wine is also grown in Österlen.
The region is ideal for one or the other beach trip, because there are almost 50 km of beautiful sandy beaches: Haväng, Sandhammaren, Mälarhusen.
