Go on holiday in the Rhine Valley, which winds through the countryside from Rüdesheim to Koblenz. The unique landscape is marked by the River Rhine, surrounded by green vineyards and historic castles and ruins that tower towards the sky atop the majestic cliffs along the riverbank. Here you can enjoy a romantic holiday with boat trips on the river, fine dinners with wine from local producers and hikes in the hilly countryside.
In 2002, the 67 km long Rhine Valley in Germany was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List and the scenic area is not without reason among the most popular tourist destinations in Germany.
The area is popular for active holidays with several good walking and cycling routes. Here you can cycle part of the 1230 km Rhine Cycle Route, which stretches from Switzerland to Rotterdam, or hike the many marked trails that start in most villages along the Rhine.
For a more relaxed holiday, take a boat trip along the river and watch the beautiful scenery slowly float by. Turboats dock at many of the charming riverside towns, where you can stop for a good lunch before heading home.
