Go on a mini holiday to Halland, a coastal landscape with sandy beaches north of Skåne. The landscape was once characterised by heather, which has given way to fields and large forests. The beautiful deciduous forests are ideal for an active holiday by bike or for long walks, and Halland's four rivers are great for a family kayak trip.
The city of Halmstad, the region's largest city, offers maritime charm, culture and city life. The city offers good shopping and dining opportunities. There are exciting sights and activities such as Halmstad Castle, the Garrison Museum and the Karlsson exhibition. The town of Falkenberg is a very nice summer town and the town of Varberg offers attractions such as the Varberg Fortress and the Halland Cultural Museum.
Halland is known for its lovely spas. Visit the famous Skrea Beach, which was one of Sweden's first outdoor spas, or Varberg, which is connected to the beach facing the Kattegat. Lovely sandy beaches with plenty of sunshine in summer and beautiful winter scenery make the coast a popular tourist destination all year round. Halland also offers excellent places for golfers, visit for example the famous Tyrösand course.
