Holidays in Heide are a must for Danes. With its location about 100 km south of the Danish-German border, the town is an ideal destination for a car holiday to Germany, whether you are looking for a family holiday, weekend break or mini break. Heide has Germany's largest uninhabited marketplace, where every Saturday morning/afternoon they have the popular Wochenmarkt.
If you're holidaying in Heide, make sure you stop by the town's fine buildings, where the church of St Jürgen, which burnt and was rebuilt in 1560, is particularly worth a visit. A visit to the old post office is also recommended. You'll find Heides Postorat, built in 1739, just opposite the church.
