Sogndal

Sogndal, a small village near Sogn og Fjordane with over 7,000 inhabitants, is a glittering starting point for fantastic hiking and fjord and mountain tours, also on horseback. It is also possible to take the car and drive to Sogndal Skicenter or Hafslo Skicenter, both places are suitable for both beginners and the more experienced skiers.

From Sogndal there are also many beautiful walks up to Anestølen, where the Norwegian writer and teacher, Margrethe Munthe, sat and composed the verses to the famous children's song 'Oh, I know a setter'.

Not far from Sogndal, in Fjærland, you can rent canoes and swim in the beautiful fjord surrounded by the impressive mountains, which is a very special experience.
