Ice hotel in Jukkasjärvi

A very special experience awaits you in Jukkasjärvi, which is an absolute must to visit if you are on holiday nearby. It is home to the unique Ice Hotel, which combines a hotel with an ice art exhibition. The ice hotel first opened in 1990 and has been rebuilt every winter since. All interiors such as chairs, tables, reception etc. are made out of ice and snow from the Torne River. In spring, large parts of the building melt back into the river, and in winter it is rebuilt. However, this does not mean that there is nothing to see during the warmer months, as there are both art exhibitions and guided tours throughout the year. The site also houses a beautiful ice chapel where you can get married or renew vows.
