Verkshotellet has a magnificent location at Jørpelandsholmene in the southwest of Norway, close to Stavanger, Lysefjorden and not least Preikestolen, which is one of Norway's greatest natural experiences.
The hotel's history dates back to 1911, when Stålverket established the building for the accommodation of functionaries, and still today, both the architecture and the details on the walls are influenced by the history of the Stålverket. At stay, all guests have access to a kitchen with a shared fridge and coffee and tea making facilities.
Just off the hotel is the small archipelago, Jørpelandsholmene, where you will find the 'Norwegian Stonehenge', Solspeilet, as well as a cosy beach and a park. You can rent a kayak and go out between the islands, and from the mainland there is also access to the main island, Jørpelandsholmen, via a bridge.
From the hotel you are just a short drive to parking lot, where the hiking trail up to the Preikestolen starts. Thus you have to experience the view of Lysefjorden from more than 600 metres at one of Norway's most popular attractions. Another great experience, Kjeragbolten, is also not far away, and can be car ferry in summer.
Breakfast is served every morning in the hotel's cosy surroundings, and in the evening you can enjoy tasty dishes in the restaurant.
Free parking is available at the hotel, and during your stay free wireless internet access.
Verkshotellet has 28 cosy and recently renovated rooms, and you can choose between single rooms, mini double rooms, standard double rooms, double rooms with an extra bed and family rooms with one or two extra beds, as well as extra comfortable Superior rooms.
