The Ruhr region is becoming more and more trendy as a holiday destination. No wonder: here you can experience a wide range of culture, numerous museums, including disused factories to witness the region's industrial past. Thanks to many projects, nature is taking over the area again in the form of parks, kilometres of cycle paths and gardens. Discover this unique region during a stay in an equally unique hotel: Tante ALMA's in Mülheim.
About the Hotel
When you enter Tante ALMA's hotel, you feel a bit like you did at grandma's house: lacy tablecloths, decades-old vintage furniture, tea sets from the old days and soft carpets that simply swallow up any noise. The hotel operators call their concept "history you can touch", and it turns out to be a success. The premises and rooms are as colourful as life itself, yet hardly anything is new at Tante ALMA's, because vintage is a big priority here. A special feature of the hotel: the various activities in which you can participate free of charge, such as early morning sports, coffee & cake and games evenings.
If you want to leave the hotel despite all the cosiness, there is a lot for you to discover. Thanks to the location in the heart of the city, you can quickly reach the most important sights on foot. Visit Broich Castle or the Aquarius Water Museum, the world's largest walk-in camera obscura or the Founders and Entrepreneurs Museum.
Rooms
All rooms are uniquely furnished. In addition to vintage rooms, there are also some with modern furnishings. Each room has its own bathroom with shower/WC and hairdryer, a TV, seating and a desk.
