About the hotel

Stor-Elvdal Hotell is located on a large village farm with and well-preserved buildings. In 2017, the entire hotel complex was granted the status of 'Norwegian Cultural Centre', with beautiful brown sights along Riksvei 3, and the hotel itself is filled with Norwegian art and cultural history all the way from 1814 up to the present day. The site thus underlines a great pride in cultural heritage. The hotel also houses its its own museum and museum library, where it is possible to guided tour by appointment.

The grounds also include the cosy pub, "Askeladden", which is open once a week and is a popular place to enjoy drinks, snacks, music and socialising. Themed evenings are also held, such as quiz nights and 'troubadour nights'.

Koppang and Stor-Elvdal offer a wide range of activities for young and old, both summer and winter. Here you have unique nature along Norway's longest river, the Glomma, perfect for both hiking and fishing, and In winter, you have great skiing opportunities nearby. There is also short distance to Sollia and Sohlbergsplassen, Nasjonal Turistvei and Røros.
