Hotell Wettern

Hotel Wettern is a newly renovated hotel located down by the beach at Vättern in Karlsborg. Here you live just a stone's throw from Karlsborg Fortress Museum as well as lovely walks in the city centre.

About the hotel

Hotel Wettern welcomes you with a fresh atmosphere and newly renovated facilities. The hotel has a nice restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. The hotel package includes accommodation and half board with breakfast and an evening meal. The hotel also has a cosy pub where guests can have a drink and maybe watch some sports on the TV.  The pub also offers live music a few times a month.

Complimentary coffee, tea and cake are served in the lobby, and weather permitting enjoy the fresh air and lovely views on the terrace or in the garden.

Guests are also offered free use of the hotel's sauna and a bathrobe and slippers are available. Nail and massage treatments are also available, for an extra fee.

The staff at the hotel are happy to book activities such as horseback riding and fishing in the area, and you can also rent bicycles at the hotel and take the trip out into the beautiful nature on two wheels.

If you stay at Hotel Wettern, a visit to the Karlsborg Fortress, built in the early 19th century, will definitely be an experience. It is one of Sweden's largest and most well-preserved fortresses and is only a short walk from the hotel.

For nature lovers, an excursion to Tivedens National Park will definitely be something of a experience. The nature area is located on the western side of Vättern, and if you are lucky you may also have the opportunity to see moose, deer, foxes and hares. There are several hiking routes of varying lengths, from about 1 to 10 km.

During your stay at Vättern, there are many opportunities to participate in various activities. During the summer there are several beaches around Vättern that can be visited and you can also try fishing or going on trout safaris. The area around the lake offers several trails which are also suitable for cycling and mountain biking.

North of Karlsborg is the archipelago with the Ombo Islands and Djäknesundet. The beautiful and natural surroundings of the archipelago make it a popular excursion destination, and remember to bring your swimwear!

The rooms

The hotel have a total of 40 rooms, and Risskov offers accommodation in comfortable and brightly decorated double rooms. Each room has an en-suite bathroom with a hairdryer, comfortable beds, TV and minibar.

When you book, you can also request rooms on the ground floor but it's worth noting that the hotel also has an elevator. Pets are welcome, but it must be agreed in advance.
