Boutique Hotel Postgården has its own local story to tell, as the hotel consists of 6 different buildings located together in the town center of Holsted, which used to be the town's commercial activities, such as the post office, fire station, bank, goldsmith, bookstore and courthouse. When the commercial activities closed down, these were renovated to transform into an intimate and charming little boutique hotel.
In 2015, Postgården's buildings were named Holsted's House of the Year, and here you can enjoy a cozy mini-break in a beautiful setting.
Make yourself comfortable in the cozy restaurant Det Blå Tog, where dinner is served every day, including a monthly French-inspired 4-course menu based on different regions of France.
The hotel is run by Suzette and Bjarne - Bjarne is a jumbo jet pilot and Suzette has worked in the automotive industry in Asia and Africa for many years. They have brought their many experiences around the world back to the small boutique hotel, whose interior design is characterized by the host couple's many experiences from the world and their connection to France, where the couple also runs a hotel.
The hotel is located in a small village, with peace and quiet and surrounded by beautiful nature. The nearest cities are Ribe, Kolding, Billund and Esbjerg, and in addition, Fanø, Rømø, Blåvand and the Wadden Sea are within a short drive. If you want to combine your visit with a visit to Germany, the border is only a 1-hour drive from the hotel and there are plenty of exciting nature and cultural experiences in the area, such as Sort Sol and Tirpitz.
The hotel has 17 lovely rooms and family apartments, all of which are individually decorated based on the host couple's own stories. For example, stay at "The Emperor's Addis Ababa", where the host couple met, or at "Miss Kirk's Bookshop", named after one of the city's historic shops. In all of the cozy rooms, you can sleep in a four-poster bed and relax in the bathtub in your private bathroom. The rooms are also equipped with a refrigerator, coffee/tea maker, hairdryer and TV.
