Eastern Norway destination image

The east and Oslo are home to half of Norway's population, so you'll find much of Norway's shopping and cultural offerings here, with cafés, shopping centres and museums. The landscape of eastern Norway ranges from high mountains to deep forests with wolf packs close to the border with Sweden, as well as beaches along the coast south of Oslo. A self-drive holiday in Eastern Norway offers a handful of wonderful experiences.

In summer, visit the cosy towns of Tønsbjerg, Sandefjord, Larvik, and Drøbak, Hvitsten and Son. In eastern Norway, visit the charming, historic town of Fredrikstad or enjoy the tranquillity of a spa break.

In Norway there are many options such as musk ox safaris, rafting on the rivers or guided city walks. Also visit Vigelandsparken, Norway's most visited attraction with over 1 million visitors each year. You can also go to Holmenkollen and the ski museum near Oslo.
