Active lakeside holiday in Norway
About the hotel
Savalen Fjellhotell & Spa overlooks Lake Savalen in Norway’s Innlandet region, with mountain scenery and outdoor experiences close at hand. Days here can be as active or leisurely: from a day on the trails to a relaxing massage or a dip in the heated pool.
About the hotel
The hotel’s main attraction is its 800 m² mountain spa, where panoramic views make the most of the lakeside setting. Enjoy the 32°C wellness pool, warmer whirlpools, bubble beds and massage stations, or settle into the pool bar for a drink. For an extra treat, book a relaxing massage, facial, body scrub or pampering foot treatment. There are also relaxation areas and a fitness room.
Breakfast sets you up for the day, and the hotel restaurant makes it easy to enjoy dinner without heading out again. Traditional mountain surroundings give the hotel a welcoming feel, with free Wi-Fi and parking adding to the convenience.
Things to see and do
Lake Savalen is a natural starting point for summer days, whether you prefer fishing, paddling or simply taking in the views. Explore the surrounding countryside on foot or by bike, or discover the area on horseback. Winter brings cross-country trails, nearby downhill skiing and the chance to enjoy a horse-drawn sleigh ride through the snowy landscape.
A short walk from the hotel, Santa’s House adds a playful touch to your stay. Meet Mrs Claus or one of Santa’s helpers, browse the Christmas shop and sit down for waffles and a warm drink. Children can join the Elf School to learn the secrets of Santa’s world. The house welcomes visitors on selected days throughout the year, with additional activities around holidays.
For a local outing, visit Tynset’s historic timber church or head to Huset Aukrust in Alvdal, where art, humour and imaginative characters introduce you to Norwegian author and artist Kjell Aukrust.
Rooms
Choose from single and double rooms, rooms with an extra bed, and mountain suites accommodating up to six guests. All have a private bathroom. The suites provide extra space to spend time together, with a living area and kitchenette.
