Go on a self-drive holiday to Norway and experience this scenic country up close. Stay at the traditional mountain hotel Rauland Høgfjellshotell, which is conveniently located 1,000 metres above sea level between Bergen, Oslo and Stavanger and close to the beautiful Hardangervidda National Park. In summer, nature shows its best side and offers lovely hikes in the countryside. With a lift pass, ski enthusiasts have access to 49 slopes and 150 km of cross-country ski trails in the middle of one of the largest ski destinations in Telemark. After a long and active day, the hotel's wellness area with pool, steam room and sauna will be a nice place to relax and regain your strength.
The hotel's Falkeriset Restaurant serves a buffet breakfast between 8:00 and 9:30. In the evening, delicious fish and meat dishes are served, prepared with seasonal ingredients. Dinner is served between 19:00 and 20:30. There is also 'after ski' in the ski lodge, where on selected weekends there is live music during the winter season. Otherwise, it is possible to have a drink in the lobby bar, which is open every day.
After an eventful day, enjoy the hotel's wellness area with swimming pool, steam room, fitness centre and sauna, offering stunning mountain views. The pool area is open daily between 07:00 and 19:00.
In the basement there is an activity room with PlayStation 2, table tennis, table football, air hockey, billiards and a climbing wall (2.4 metres high and 6 metres wide).
The hotel also has a children's playground and bicycles are available for hire. The hotel offers free parking in front of the main entrance and free internet.
In the summer, there are great opportunities for hiking, or you can rent bikes at the hotel. Fishing is also possible, and there are many activities. Just ask at reception. Not far from the hotel there are three winter resorts: Rauland Ski Centre, Vierli and Raulandsfjell, all suitable for a ski holiday for the whole family with many different levels of difficulty. Rauland Ski Centre has 40 slopes for both skiing and snowboarding and around 150 km of cross-country ski trails.
There are a total of 101 rooms in the hotel, which are approximately 15 square metres and with two single beds of 90 cm. All rooms have TV, hairdryer, private bathroom with shower and toilet and daily cleaning. For a fee, pets can also come on summer or winter holiday at Rauland Høgfjellshotell.
