About the hotel
Lia Fjellhotell is 850 m above sea level, located on the southern slope with a lovely panoramic view of Hardangervidda mountain and the valley of Holmevannet. The location is quite adventurous for both summer and winter adventures on family driving holidays.
About the hotel
In summer, the area is ideal for hiking, fishing and cycling. Rowing boats can be rented on site and mountain biking is also a popular activity in the area. In winter, there are plenty of opportunities for ski-lovers, and the hotel has its own ski slope and ski lift. The nearby Lia Ski Centre offers both downhill and cross-country skiing, and you can rent skis and snowboards at the hotel.
After a long and active day in nature, it's always nice to take a sauna and loosen up your leg muscles. Finish off with a nice steam bath and you're ready for dinner. You can also just relax in the lounge, which offers a beautiful view of Holmevannet and Hardangervidda. The kitchen is renowned for its homemade and tasty food, and a buffet breakfast is served, as well as a two-course menu or evening buffet. After dinner, stop by the fireplace lounge and bar for a quiet drink before retiring to the comfortable rooms.
In summer, there is a playground in the garden for the kids to play and you can also have a barbecue in the garden in the summer weather for families to enjoy.
Summer is also a good time to enjoy the many mountain flowers in bloom, the blue water and the fragrant pine trees on a bike ride or hike in the forest. Winter offers ski slopes right outside the door, and the hotel has its own ski resort with lift. There are well-maintained cross-country ski trails in the mountains and on the wooded slopes, so whether it's summer or winter, a range of wonderful experiences await you right at the hotel's entrance.
The centre of Geilo is 14 km from the hotel and, in addition to city trips, there is a wide range of active options. In summer there is rappelling and climbing, you can also visit the Bear Park in Flå, or take a ride on the Flåmsbanen. How about a trip to Langedrag Nature Park or a visit to the stave church in Uvdal. Hallingdal offers museum visits and there are actually many exciting activities in the area. This ensures a varied holiday both at the hotel and in the beautiful area around Lia Fjellhotell. If you need inspiration for a trip, the friendly hotel staff will be happy to advise you. It also offers free Wi-Fi and free private parking.
