Experience the unique charm of Kragerup Gods, a renowned historical estate offering exquisite surroundings for a memorable holiday.Get ready for an unforgettable holiday in one of Denmark's most beautiful and historic spots: the magnificent Kragerup Estate! This stunning estate, which dates back to the 1800s, is situated in the idyllic West Zealand area, surrounded by lush green nature. It's the perfect setting for a truly special holiday experience. As soon as you cross the bridge on the way to the main building, you'll know you're in for something special. Enjoy a romantic stay with exquisite food, relaxation, sauna and lots of fascinating history and beautiful nature.
Kragerup Estate is located in beautiful green surroundings about 15 km north of Slagelse on West Zealand. The magnificent building dates from the 1800s, but the history of the grounds themselves dates back to 1327.
Kragerup Estate has been run by the Dinesen family since 1801 and is now in its 8th generation. The current owner, Birgitte Dinesen, renovated the estate in 1998 and transformed it into a hotel with conference and banquet facilities. It should be noted that the famous Danish author, Karen Blixen, actually belongs to the Dinesen family, and the estate's restaurant is named after her.
During your stay, you can indulge in some well-deserved pampering in the small wellness area, which features a heated indoor swimming pool and sauna. You may be required to make a reservation when the hotel is full, but it's well worth it!
The estate's large outdoor areas include a beautiful park which, together with the surrounding woodland, offers great opportunities for walking or cycling in the surrounding area. The grounds also offer a wide range of social activities, including a football golf course, archery, horse riding, rafting and much more. The estate also operates an outdoor climbing park, 'Go High', and an outdoor trampoline park, 'Go Bounce', which is a fun and challenging experience for all ages. It has a fee and can be booked at the hotel.
Every day, you can get up and get the perfect start to the day with a tasty and varied buffet breakfast in the cosy surroundings of the estate. The beautiful restaurant 'Blixen' opened in 2015 and is, as mentioned earlier, named after Karen Blixen who in her young years, even had her time on the estate. As an extra little tribute to the author, the restaurant serves Karen Coffee from Kenya as well as many of the wines on the wine list originating from South Africa. The food in the restaurant is prepared with seasonal fresh produce and herbs from the kitchen garden, home-grown meat and delicacies sourced from various local farmers. Both Danish and international dishes are served.
Kragerup Gods has a strong focus on sustainability and it is a natural part of the vision that great efforts are made to protect the environment. The estate is CO2-neutral and self-sufficient with electricity from its own wind turbines, water from its own waterworks and heat from its own straw boiler.
Free parking is available, including a charging station for electric cars, and you have free access to wireless internet during your stay.
Kragerup Estate has 57 different rooms, all of which are neat and well maintained and blend in beautifully with the rest of the estate. They are located in different buildings of the estate. Each room is uniquely furnished and decorated. All rooms have private bath and toilet, TV, telephone and hairdryer. The package offers accommodation in the estate's standard, superior, deluxe or family rooms.
