Hotel Njord

The lovely 4-star hotel is beautifully located in the middle of the idyllic Kranichsee area. This Nordic and very modern hotel welcomes its guests to a wealth of experiences, amidst the beautiful nature that surrounds the mountains of the Harz.

About the hotel

It's easy to feel at home at Hotel Njord, the cosy fireplace lounge is often the meeting point in the evening and the big 50-inch screen is always ready for a sporting event or two. The hotel also has its very own library, where you can enjoy a cup of tea, coffee or a drink while taking in the beautiful views or immersing yourself in a book.

The delicious buffet breakfast is available from 7:30 to 10:30 every day. In the evening, you can enjoy the hotel's restaurant Madhus, which offers well-prepared dishes made from fresh ingredients, preferably organic and seasonal. The menu changes every two months to ensure guests a great local culinary experience.

Try one of the many varieties of vodka in the hotel's Vodka Bar, in fact there are over 50 to choose from, so you should be able to find a favourite sooner or later.

There is also a modern wellness area offering a variety of massages and beauty treatments. Take a relaxing dip in the delicious whirlpools or try the cascade shower and of course the Nordic sauna, the healthiest way to unwind. In the wellness area, free mineral water is available for visitors.

The hotel offers free parking and there is also a ski and mountain bike cellar, as well as a cleaning station and a workbench if you need to fine-tune your skis or gears. The hotel also provides mountain bikes for a small fee.

Rooms

The hotel's rooms are bright with a charming décor that helps ensure everyone feels at home, whatever their age. Each room has an en suite bathroom with shower and hairdryer. The bed mattresses are of a very good quality, ensuring a good night's sleep. Entertainment is also provided with a flat-screen TV with a lot of channels as well as a radio and of course WiFi. The minibar can help with both entertainment and thirst, and should there be valuables that require special attention, there is also a safe in all rooms. Smoking is outside, but it's not as cold in summer and spring - remember your smoking jacket in autumn and winter, though.
