Kvitfjell is a ski resort located in Fåvang, Ringebu municipality, about 45 minutes from Lillehammer. Kvitfjell was completed for the Olympics in 1994 and since then it has developed into one of the best and most beautiful ski resorts in Norway. During the 1994 Winter Olympics, men's and women's downhill and super-g races were held at the ski resort.

The ski resorts of Hafjell and Kvitfjell are connected by a free ski bus that takes about 30 minutes and together form the largest ski resort with a total of 73 km of slopes - all accessible with the same lift pass. The ski resort consists of 25 different runs and there are 11 lifts.

Kvitfjell is a place for ski enthusiasts with everything from the Olympic downhill to slopes for beginners. If it's stormy, there are also cross-country ski trails with a total length of 600 km.

Kvitfjell is known for having a high quality of its eateries, restaurants and afterskiing. All the fresh air and outdoor activity is guaranteed to give you a good appetite. Dog sledding and canoe trips in Gålå

In winter, canoeing is a popular activity in Gålå. The canoe trips give you a cosy and atmospheric experience. You sit comfortably in the canoe with torches, under nice warm reindeer skins. The beautiful horses love to take you on a tour of the beautiful winter landscape in Gålå. Dog sledding is another very exciting and interesting activity. Not many people have tried dog sledding before. The dogs pull the sledge in 6 or 8 buckets and you can either sit in the sledge or try to drive yourself. The incredible interaction between the dogs is an experience you will never forget. Here you will experience how enduring the dogs are and a clear ranking among the pack. The tours are a very special experience that is definitely worth taking on a winter holiday or just a mini break to try. They take about 30 minutes and are a short distance from the hotel.

Tyrihanstunet

In winter you can visit Tyrihanstunet, strap on your skis and go. Here you'll find three different rides, all built in traditional Norwegian setter style. Healthy, energizing and homemade food is served here. There are no French fries at Tyrihanstunet and the local sausages are delivered from Anni's Pølsemageri in Ringebu.

Trip from Kvitfjell to Digeråsrunden

There are not many places in Norway where it is not possible to get a good hike, and here we can recommend the hike from Kvitfjell to Digeråsrunden which is a distance of 28 km and which is perfect for a day trip in the scenic mountain terrain.

Passing Fjellvei, Traktorvei and the old Ferdeselsvei and in Vannadalsvatnet there are several good resting places where you can rest your feet before continuing towards Digeråsrunden.

Kvittfjeld by bike

Find the active holiday at Risskov and go on either a summer or winter holiday with the whole family on a self-drive holiday to Norway. In winter you can ski in Kvittfjeld. But there is also the possibility of a beautiful experience in summer by cycling in Kvittfjeld whether you are into easier road cycling or want a more challenging ride on smaller trails. If you are a family with small children we recommend the Gumperunden. This is an easy route in the beautiful mountain landscape. If you are looking for more physical challenges, you can start with the route to Storfjeldet or cycle from Skardbua to Fagerhøj. Ringebu Stave Church

Ringeby Stavkirke is one of 28 preserved stave churches in Norway and one of the largest. It dates back to the Middle Ages and there are many local stories about this church. Among other things, there is a story about the church bell that was supposed to be moved to Oslo, but ended up at the bottom of Lake Mjøsa.

Ringebu Rectory

If you do find yourself in these parts during the summer, don't miss a visit to Ringeby Præstegård. This historic gem is open during the summer so passers-by can experience some of the best in Norwegian art, namely an exhibition by the artist Jakob Weidemann.

The vicarage served as a vicarage until 1991, when it was protected and restored to its original design from around 1743.

Moose safari in Gålå

Go to Norway on one of the many self-drive holidays arranged by Risskov. Join a moose safari in a minibus to a scenic area with many moose. You may also be lucky enough to see other animals such as foxes, deer and stags. Moose safaris take place on selected weekdays during the summer. On a holiday by car it is easy to get out and experience the beautiful nature and have a great summer holiday.

Frisbee golf in Gålå

Frisbee golf is played like regular golf, but the main difference is that instead of golf clubs and golf balls, you use frisbees. As with regular golf, the object of frisbee golf is to hit the basket using the fewest possible shots. This is an activity that both children and adults can take part in. After a round on the course you can enjoy a good cup of coffee at Peer Gynts cafe, right by the course.
