Sailing on Arresø

If you want to experience untouched and unique nature, take a boat trip on Lake Arres with the turbo boat M/S Frederikke. Arresø is Denmark's largest lake with an area of almost 41 km2. The trip starts from Arresødalvej 100 in Frederiksværk and lasts about an hour. Check departure times and buy tickets online.

Frederiksborg Castle

Take a trip to Hillerød where you can experience the most impressive Frederiksborg Castle. Built by Christian IV in the early 1600s, it is the largest Renaissance building in Scandinavia. The grounds include a beautiful palace park and a palace church. Since 1878, the castle grounds have been home to the National History Museum. Discover 500 years of Danish history through paintings and portraits, furniture and crafts, and kings and queens. Rørvig Strand

Rørvig Strand er en af Sjællands bedste badestrande. Den brede sandstrand ud mod Kattegat er omgivet af klitter og Rørvigs flotte sandflugtsplantage. Ved stranden er der stor parkeringsplads med kiosk og toiletfaciliteter og i sommerferien har stranden et bemandet livreddertårn.

Rørvig

The old fishing village of Rørvig is beautifully situated at the entrance to the Isefjord. Rørvig is a real holiday town, where the harbour is the natural meeting point for both locals and tourists. Here you can visit one of Odsherred's oldest buildings, the listed Lodsoldermandsgård. For centuries, pilots have been sent from here to help the shipping traffic through Isefjord and Roskilde Fjord.

The old town centre has many beautiful fishermen's and skippers' houses. It's a nice walk along the coastal path from the harbour to the old town. From the cosy harbour there is a ferry service to Hundested and North Zealand.
