Ceske Budejovice

České Budějovice, the capital of South Bohemia in the Czech Republic, is a charming city known for its rich history, beautiful architecture, and beer heritage. Founded in 1265, it boasts a well-preserved medieval center with the expansive Přemysl Otakar II Square, one of the largest squares in Central Europe. The square is surrounded by colorful Baroque and Renaissance buildings, with the iconic Black Tower offering panoramic views of the city. The town of Ceske Budejovice has been the centre of brewing since the 13th century and the beer, Budvar, is still one of the most popular beers in the Czech Republic today. This beer was also the original inspiration for the popular American version, Budweiser.
