St. Peter and Paul Cathedral in Brandenburg
The beautiful Cathedral of St Peter and Paul is located on a small island in the city of Brandenburg on the Havel River. The cathedral was built in 1165 and has, among other things, the Dreigiebelsshrein, a 600-year-old wardrobe for storing old liturgical vestments. The cathedral organ was built between 1723 and 1725 by Joachim Wagner and consists of 2010 pipes. In 1848, the cathedral was used as a meeting place for the Prussian National Assembly. You can visit the adjacent Cathedral Museum, which has an exhibition of sacred art from ten centuries.
