Gjøvig Glassworks

A single event started the town's growth, and that was in 1861 when the glass furnace was lit for the first time.

Today the old glassworks can be visited and visitors can experience how the talented glassblowers create both design and art. Also visit the shop where the glassware can be bought, and especially the cobalt coloured vases are well known but there are many other interesting utilitarian designs that might tempt you.
