The large football stadium was inaugurated in 2005 with a capacity of 75,000 spectators. It is currently the home ground of Bayern Munich and there should be good opportunities to see one of the many matches played at the stadium, provided there is an interest in football.
During the 2006 World Cup, the opening match between Costa Rica and Germany was played in this formidable stadium, and it was also here that the semi-final between Portugal and France was played during the 2006 World Cup.
