The phenomenon Sort Sol (meaning black sun) simply cannot be described, it must be experienced. Gigantic flocks of starlings almost dance in the sky. The phenomenon begins small with just a few starlings, but then it goes faster, gathering ever larger flocks of the birds as the sunset approaches. Nowhere is the phenomenon as pronounced as in Skærbæk and Tønder. Sort Sol takes place in spring and autumn. The excursions are mainly by bus. The whole trip lasts 3-4 hours.
