Telemarkskanalen

Take a trip on the Telemark Canal with the beautiful canal boats Victoria and Henrik Ibsen. In Telemark, nature is very varied and the canal tour winds through the many beautiful landscapes that lie adjacent to the canal. There are mountains, forests filled with berries and an incredibly lush landscape on both sides of the shore.

It's also possible to cycle the route along the Telemark Canal, and there are clearly marked routes so it's always easy to find the right way.

Climbing park Høyt & Lavt Vestfold

On the steep south-west facing slopes of Rognsflauene, at Tangevald Kleiva and south to Rognstranda, lies Tangevald nature reserve. Here you will find a magnificent deciduous forest and one of Norway's largest deposits of lime forests. There are also areas covered with grey ash forest and freshwater rivers. There are plenty of routes for cyclists and trekkers alike.

Stavern

Stavern is located in the Larvikfjord and has about 6000 inhabitants. The permanent residents have their noses turned towards the open sea and the corresponding good sun and light conditions. Larvik is a popular place for travelling artists, who have left their mark on the town with plenty of studios and exhibitions for the art enthusiast. The town is home to many historic buildings, best experienced on foot through the charming streets where the sights are not far away.

Larvik Golf

Every year, Larvik Art Association organises six to eight exhibitions in Galleri Bølgen with artists from home and abroad. Throughout the year, many art lectures are also held, with local historians often contributing their perspectives. There are also frequent opportunities to grab a bite to eat, or else dine in the area's eateries.

Fritzøehus Park

How about parking your car at Fritzøehus Park and stretching your legs? Here you can hike in beautiful natural surroundings. The park is characterised by its beautiful beech trees and with many larger mammals such as deer, billy goats and sheep. The place is run by Mille-Marie Treschow, who during the summer season welcomes guests who have booked a tour in advance.

The Viking Road in Westfold

A drive along the Viking Road from Mølen in the south to Borre in the north offers a historical journey back to the Viking Age. The route follows less busy roads, so there is plenty of opportunity to stop the car along the way and explore the past. For example, you can see the rune stones and burial mounds at Mølen. It's a great experience in any weather. On the way you can also see Kaupang and the mound "Kongshaugen" at Gokstad farm. This is where the Gokstad ship was excavated, and is now on display at the Viking Ship Museum in Oslo.

Nevlunghavn

Nevlunghavn var et tidligere lille fiskerleje. Stedet har bevaret sit gamle, arkitektoniske præg langs havnen og er blandt nordmænd et populært fritidsmål. Det ligger smukt og en smule afskærmet af Skagerak. Det er nok af en af grundene til at deres badestrande er så populære.
