I would really like to give extra praise to the staff at this hotel. I have traveled a lot, but have never experienced such friendly and service-minded employees at this place. The Stasjonen Hotel was small and cozy, with incredibly tasty food. Very central to most things, we had a great time!

Sigrid Undset's home - Bjerkebæk
In 1919 Sigrid Undset moved into her new home, which she called Bjerkbæk. At first it was just a small log house, but in 1924 she bought another log house, and together they make up the innetunet. Sigrid Undset decorated her home with a stylish taste and with personal valuables and books. The two works dealing with the Middle Ages, Kristine Lavrandsatter and Olav Audunsson, were both written by Sigrid Undset while she lived at Bjerkebæk.
