Spa For Hjo

Spa For Hjo is a peaceful countryside retreat just outside the picturesque wooden town of Hjo and close to Lake Vättern. Its small-scale setting, personal atmosphere and rural surroundings make it a lovely choice for a quiet and relaxing break.

About the hotel

Spa For Hjo is set in a red former stable building known locally as Röda Stallet. It has a relaxed and informal atmosphere, with plenty of space to sit outside and enjoy the rural surroundings. Three alpacas graze in the nearby meadow, and dogs and cats also live on the property.

During your stay, you can take a swim in the heated outdoor pool or relax on the wooden terrace. Spa For Hjo is currently being renovated and gradually developed into a full spa hotel. The spa area is not yet complete but treatments can be booked. The selection includes massage, hot-stone massage and facials. The therapists use natural skincare products from the Swedish brand Maria Åkerberg.

Breakfast is served each morning. The hotel also offers free Wi-Fi, complimentary parking and bicycle rental.

Hjo is about five minutes away by car. The town is known for its well-preserved wooden houses, small shops, cafés and lakeside paths. In summer, you can take a steamboat trip or join a fishing excursion on Lake Vättern.

The quiet roads around the hotel are suitable for walking and cycling. Hökensås Nature Reserve is also within driving distance and offers pine forests, small lakes, hiking trails and fishing. Other places to visit include Almnäs Bruk, Karlsborg Fortress and the Göta Canal.

Rooms

The rooms are simply furnished and have a warm, individual character. Some feature wooden floors, soft textiles and reused furniture chosen to suit the country setting. You can book a single room, a double room or a double room with an extra bed. All rooms have a private bathroom, toiletries, Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV and a hairdryer.
