Skara Konsthotell

Skara Konsthotell is a cosy hotel with its own art gallery, where you will find works by artists such as Anders Zorn, Carl Larsson, Bruno Liljefors, Bengt Lindström, Peter Dahl and Jenny Nyström. The hotel is also conveniently located close to the E20 motorway in Skara, making it a perfect base for a driving holiday.

About the hotel

The hotel is perhaps best known for having its own art gallery with works by various famous artists such as Anders Zorn, Bruno Liljefors, Carl Larsson, Jenny Nyström and many others. In fact, the hotel may well have Sweden's largest collection of Anders Zorn paintings, and it was the hotel's founder, Lars-Göran Blank, who collected the art in his private collection. Visits to the gallery are free and the art adorns walls throughout the hotel.

The hotel was built in 2007, but it was soon discovered that the building was too small to house the entire art collection, so in 2012 the red part of the building was added. Today, the hotel houses 23 rooms and has its very own art gallery.

The hotel has a lovely gym set at the top of the glass house, where you can exercise with a great view of the village. There is also a sauna next to the gym.

A rich buffet breakfast is served every morning and in the evening you can enjoy the main course from the restaurant's menu. There is also a cocktail bar at the hotel.

The hotel's close surroundings offer many exciting activities for the whole family. Cozy Skara is a charming small town with many cozy restaurants, cafes and shops. You are also a short distance from Skara Sommerland, which is extremely popular with children, as well as Vilan's leisure complex with Vilan's bathhouse. You can also play mini golf at the hotel. Don't miss an excursion to the flourishing mountain, "Kinnekulle", where cosy café visits, farm shops and great hiking trails await.

Free parking is available at the hotel and you have free access to wireless internet during your stay.

Rooms

The hotel has 98 rooms and both single and double rooms are available, with the possibility of adding up to two extra beds in the double rooms.

All rooms are en suite and equipped with hairdryer, free toiletries, desk, telephone, tea and coffee making facilities, safe and flat-screen TV. The single rooms are equipped with a 90cm bed and the double rooms offer beds of 120cm.

Rooms for disabled people are accessible. Please leave a comment when booking if you require such a room.
