Koala Kids World

Koala Kids World offers games, fun and action all year round and is ideal for families with children. Every day there are different activities such as face painting and crafts and the kids love to romp around in the more than 1,000 m² indoor play area with climbing walls, climbing rooms, play tower, trampolines and much more. Koala Kids World is located as part of Göbel's Hotel Rodenberg.

Sontra

Sontra has about 7,500 inhabitants and is located in the heart of Hesse between Bad Herzberg and Göttingen. The town, which is over 1200 years old, is a beautiful medieval gem set in wonderful countryside with excellent hiking opportunities. Spend some extra time in the town's historic centre too.

One of the beautiful sights in Sontra is undoubtedly the church from 1488. The bell tower dates back to the 12th century. Also worth a visit is the town's beautiful Town Hall. In addition to the usual town council meetings, it also houses a courtroom and holds weddings, and the town hall has a fascinating history to tell.

The cosy town has a long tradition in various crafts and this characterises the town. Above all, much is done to maintain the many fine town facades and half-timbered houses. You can visit the interesting mill museum which still has activities. Also visit the interesting museum in the old Boyneburger Schloss, where you can learn more about farm life in the area in earlier times.

In terms of history, Sontra is very well known for the extraction of copper in the mines. Over 1200 people have worked in the mines. Visit the small mountain museum where you can get an interesting insight into the history of working in the mines. With its lovely Hessian climate, Sontra also boasts a state-recognised climatic health resort - the best in spa areas - a kind of climate therapy.

Kurbad Therme

In the festival and spa town of Bad Hersfeld, you will find the large bathing and wellness paradise, Kurbad Therme, where people of all ages will be able to enjoy a large selection of options, from swimming pools and saunas to wellness and massages.

Leisure and adventure pool Sontra

If you have children on holiday, spend a day at Sontra's open-air pool. There's something for everyone and even if the weather isn't right for sunbathing, the water is at a constant temperature, so you can still have a good time. You'll find a 65m Wild River slide, a paddling pool, seesaws and various children's pools. Beach volleyball and table tennis are also available. The open-air swimming pool also has a cosy cafeteria serving a variety of snacks and lunch. In short, you can enjoy a day for the whole family, where the children will love it all.

Witzenhausen

Take the trip to Witzenhausen, east of Kassel. It is the smallest university town in Germany. There are beautiful and well-maintained half-timbered houses, just try to take the trip past the old brewery, which stands well-preserved and strunk and offers guests, among other things, cherry beer. Witzenhausen is located in the Werratal, one of the largest cherry regions in Germany. The cherries are harvested around mid-July and just afterwards the famous 'Old Town Festival' is held, which is not a quiet event and certainly worth a visit if the weather is good.

Eisenach

Take a trip to Eisenach and visit the beautiful Wartburg Castle. The castle has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1999. Take a tour of the various buildings, rooms and beautiful halls as well as the attached garden.
