Hiking along the Trogfjell path

Trogfjellstien is a path with a cultural and historical theme. Starting from Åmil and Elvarheim Museum, you walk up the mountain over a famous stone bridge, one of the oldest of its kind in Northern Europe. The trail is safe to walk and therefore also suitable for families with children. The walk takes about two hours, is 1.6 km long and the highest point is 430 metres. At the top of Trogfjeldet there are benches where you can sit and enjoy the beautiful view. You can park by the Elvarheim Museum.

Åmli

Åmli is located in the municipality of Aust-Agder in Norway and has 1800 inhabitants. The area is known for its art and cultural history. There are exhibitions and small shops with unique souvenirs. There are many opportunities for hiking and cycling in the beautiful Norwegian countryside, as well as canoeing or fishing in the fresh waters of Vallekilen and Nidelelven.

Climbing on Trogfjeldet

Go to Norway on a cheap self-drive holiday and discover the beautiful nature. Find child-friendly hotels in the Trogfjeldet area, then try a climb on the Via Ferrata. This is a safe climbing and hiking trail with safety equipment. You can climb 200 metres and get a fantastic view of Åmli.

Gautefall Ski Center

For those who love to ski, we recommend Gautefall Ski Centre.In Gautefall there are six ski lifts and 15 ski slopes, of which 5 are green, 3 are blue, 3 are red and 4 are black. The difference in altitude is 700 metres. The winter season is from mid-December to April.

There is also a 55 km long cross-country skiing trail.
