Fantastic good food, good service from someone who sets the standard high - he was really a party. The beds were harder, noise from ventilation and from the road. Cleaning was fine.

Østergaard hotel is worth a visit. The rooms are a bit older, but they are nice and clean. We had a 3-course menu included in our stay which was good and tasty. Then there is the waiter who is a landmark for the hotel. He is just nice and funny. He must have a big gift when he soon celebrates his 25th anniversary. Hope he's there next time we visit the hotel.

HEART - Herning Museum of Contemporary Art
One of Herning's many prides is certainly HEART - Herning Museum of Contemporary Art, a unique building designed by American architect Steven Holl. HEART opened its doors in 2009 and offers visitors an exciting insight into both Danish and international contemporary art. There are changing special exhibitions covering all forms and types of contemporary art and in all types of media. There are also thematic group exhibitions and the collection itself is based on conceptual and experimental art from the 1930s to the present day. There are works by the Italian artist Piero Manzoni and the collection also includes works by Paul Gadegaard, Ingvar Cronhammar, Bjørn Nørgaard and many other artists.
The ´Socle du Monde biennial´ is the place where young artists create new creations together with Herning's companies. All in all, Herning is an ideal destination if you're looking for a family holiday in Denmark or perhaps just need a few days on a mini break in your own car - there's also a vibrant cultural centre with a concert hall, restaurant and shop, so there should be plenty of entertainment in store if you're interested in exploring contemporary art in an exciting and wide-ranging artists' environment at HEART - Herning Museum of Contemporary Art.

Take a walk in the mini village, tenderise the bouncy castle and get lost in the ball room. There are also curling lanes, a pool centre, radios, trampolines, mini golf, a pirate ship, massage chairs and much, much more. Here, the family will be unmanageable on ten acres of land. There's simply so much to do, there's no end to it. After the visit, someone is sure to want to return to Baboon City before too long! So why not go on a weekend break and spice up your summer holiday with a visit to Baboon City at the same time. There are plenty of child-friendly hotels nearby, so you're set for a real family holiday.
