About the inn

The inn’s history is closely linked to the village’s former watermill, where farmers waiting for their grain to be ground had somewhere to sit and enjoy a drink. Today, this former royally privileged inn retains its traditional character. Its grounds stretch towards the stream and are known for their large, old rhododendrons—a lovely setting for a quiet moment outdoors.

Food and atmosphere are central to a stay here. The restaurant serves an English-inspired pub menu, with favourites such as fish and chips and sausages with mash. Rustic interiors and an informal atmosphere make it a comfortable place to settle in for dinner and a conversation after a day in the fresh air.

The surrounding area

Nearby Thy National Park offers open dune heaths, woodland paths and a rugged coastline, with plenty of opportunities for walking and watching wildlife. At Lodbjerg Lighthouse, built in 1883, you can climb the tower for far-reaching views or follow marked trails through the surrounding landscape. Lodbjerg Beach is around a kilometre west of the lighthouse; the descent via the coastal cliff is steep and demanding. The lighthouse’s seasonal coffee room is another pleasant stop.

For a cultural outing, visit SMK Thy in Doverodde by the Limfjord. This branch of Denmark’s national gallery presents changing exhibitions in a former merchant’s complex.
