Kübomare

Kübomare is a 3,000 m² indoor wellness centre, where you will find, among other things, swimming pools with sea water from the Baltic Sea as well as a large sauna and relaxation area. The water temperature in the two pools is around 29 °C. One of the pools measures 25x12.5 metres and is perfect for a swim. In the smaller pool you can relax with massage jets and a bubble bath. The sauna area offers a total of seven different saunas, including a Finnish sauna, steam bath, bio sauna, Kajüten sauna, ice bath, foot bath, relaxation area and sauna bar. There are also saunas and adventure baths outside.

Heiligendamm

A nice little town on the coast. In clear weather you should be able to see Denmark from the jetty. The coast is nice and worth a walk. When on a driving holiday here, you should also take a trip to Galerie Orangerie or, if you want to get out on the blue wave, book an appointment for windsurfing.

Water Art

At the southeast end of the square is the spectacular fountain, or water art as it is called. The fountain, in the Dutch Renaissance style, was built from 1579-1602 to plans by Phillipp Brandin of Utrecht.

The 12 limestone columns support a beautiful copper roof, topped by a hexagonal lantern. Until 1897, the well supplied drinking and service water to around 220 households through wooden water pipes.

Rostock

Rostock is a charming medieval town and today a vibrant university city. Rostock's waterfront location provides plenty of light and air, and ultimately life. In addition, Rostock has a charming city centre with a large, long promenade offering plenty of shopping opportunities. This is framed by two city gates. When you visit Rostock, look out for the old buildings and, of course, visit the lively harbour. Also take an afternoon to head out to the outer port of Warnemünde, where you'll find some fantastic beaches.

Wismar

Wismar is one of the old Hanseatic towns, and here you will find, in addition to the historic town centre, the old medieval harbour, which is largely intact. The town is characterised by many impressive merchants' houses, many of which have characteristic jagged gables facing the street.

See the old harbour, St. George and St. Mary's church. In 2002, the historic parts of Wismar were inscribed on UNESCO's World Heritage List. In the centre of Wismar is the beautiful market square, which at 10,000 m2 is one of the largest in northern Germany. Adjacent to the square are a number of state buildings, including the town hall. The large and beautifully restored town hall cellar houses the exhibition "Bilder einer Stadt", which describes the development of the town over time.

Northern Germany's biggest Christmas market is in Rostock, where 300 stalls are set up each year on the Neuer Markt in the heart of the city's historic centre. Stretching from Neuer Markt to Kröpeliner Tor and the city's harbour, the market is packed with live music and activities for children and adults. Each year Santa arrives by sleigh, ship or bus, and on weekends fairytales are performed on a stage in the middle of the market, while adults can enjoy archery and axe-throwing. The Christmas market is divided up so that the main square at Neuer Markt is filled with entertainment, singing, activities, carnival and rides, while stalls are located along the city's cosy network of pedestrian streets all the way down to the harbour.

Browse the many stalls offering delicious traditional Christmas treats, with roasted almonds, mulled wine and lots of local specialities. Local delights include smoked sausage, fish and Schmalzkuchen. The market is one of the most traditional and magical Christmas markets in all of Northern Europe and is particularly popular with Scandinavian visitors.
