Johannismühle Game Park

Take a walk in the Wildpark Johannismühle, located in a beautiful nature area in southern Brandenburg. Whether you are on a mini break, active holiday or family holiday with children, it is the perfect place to visit when staying in a hotel nearby.

The park is set in more than 100 hectares of unique landscape created by the Ice Age, with forests, meadows and ponds, and is home to a wide variety of deer species, oxen, wild boar, raccoons, lynx, grey wolves, Arctic wolves, brown bears, sea eagles and much more. The trails are laid out so you can walk freely without disturbing the animals, but still get reasonably close. There is also a petting zoo area, which is a particular hit with the kids. Museum village Baruther Glashütte

The Asparagus Museum in Beelitz

A visit to the Asparagus Museum in Beelitz is certainly a different experience if you don't like this noble vegetable. However, a visit can still be rewarding. Visit the small museum, which will make you smile, only half an hour's drive from Berlin.

The museum is located in Beelitz, which is particularly known for its large hospital complex, whose history dates back to the last century. It was a German military hospital during the 2nd World War. After the war it was used by Soviet troops until the reunification of Germany in 1995. Hitler was treated at the hospital during World War I and Erich Honecker was also hospitalised with liver cancer at the already then very well-known and reputable hospital.

Tropical Islands

Tropical Islands is Europe's largest indoor waterpark, offering an ideal environment for water dogs of all ages during a wonderful family holiday near Berlin. Located in the south of Brandenburg, the water park features a large tropical sea area, rainforest, mini golf, an outdoor area open all year round, sports activities and a 10,000 m² sauna and spa area.

Indulge in an authentic tropical bathing experience at 'Tropical Waters', a 200-metre tropical 'sea' area with sandy beaches, sun loungers, palm trees and delicious 28° water. From the beach you can swim out to the Princess Moanna boat, which is full of mystery, action and delightful waterslides. Relax in the lagoon area where the water is 32° warm and there are current channels, underwater slides and whirlpools. One of the first things you'll notice when you enter the tropical sea area is the 27-metre-high slide tower, which has four different water slides, including both quiet and family-friendly slides, as well as turbo slides where the top speed can reach as high as 70 km/h. Next to this area is Jungle Splash, a large water playground with several water slides.

Also visit the 35,000 m² outdoor area 'Amazonia', with swimming pools, sports facilities and the popular Whitewater River. The Whitewater River is a 250-metre long river channel where you swim through wild water conditions and land in a large pool. Amazonia is open all year round.

In the 10,000 m² rainforest area you will find 50,000 plants of more than 600 different species. There is also a 42 m² butterfly house with tropical butterfly species.

There are also a host of activities for both children and adults, including scuba diving, mermaid swimming, indoor hot air balloon rides and water scooter rides.

Tropical Islands also has its very own 18-hole mini golf course, which is created in an original design and offers lots of fun and enjoyment for the whole family. Something unique about the course is that there are real "greens".

German Museum of Technology Berlin

The Deutsches Technikmuseum Berlin, or Technical Museum, is probably best suited for older children and adults. Nevertheless, it's an unusual journey into the world of technology, involving steam engines, steam locomotives, aeroplanes, computers and a host of other forms of technology. A good mix of older and newer technologies, and lots of things to try out too. There's more than 26,000 square metres of exhibition space, so there's plenty to get stuck into if you're interested in finding out how things work.

Victory Column

See for yourself the Victory Column with the Victory Goddess standing in the large roundabout in Berlin Mitte. Since 1873, the column has stood as a symbol of the war between Denmark, Austria and Prussia in 1864 (Battle of Dybbøl), when Denmark lost Schleswig, Lauenburg and Holstein. During the 2. During the Second World War the column was partially destroyed and today the bullet holes in the base of the monument can still be seen.

Potsdam

Potsdam offers a wealth of attractions: here you will find no less than 12 castles and castle parks, which have been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1990. One of these is the impressive Schloß Sanssouci, which was the summer residence of King Frederick II. In the city, you can also visit the Babelsberg Film Park or the Albert Einstein Science Park.

Museum of Natural History

It is probably one of the most important museums of its kind in the world, with over 30 million zoological, palaeontological and mineralogical specimens, and is famous for its spectacular exhibits, including the earliest specimen of the bird 'Archaeopteryx'.

Sanssouci Palace

Built in 1745-1747, Schloss Sanssouci was Frederick the Great's impressive Rococo palace in Potsdam near Berlin. The palace was designed by architect Georg Wenzeslaus von Knobelsdorff and is located in the eastern part of Park Sanssouci. Since 1990, the beautiful palace and its extensive park have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
