Wallåkra Stoneware Factory

Wallåkra Stentøjsfabrik has been making classic pots and pans the traditional way for 150 years. Here you can get an insight into and follow the production from clay handling to the finished product. Come on a guided tour around the factory and try and turn clay yourself! Don't forget to bring home your own self-made clay pot. You can also take the opportunity to dine in the tavern which is housed in the warehouse.

Karlslundsbadet

In the summer, the sun and warmth of Skåne offer great opportunities for some lovely moments by the beach. But on days when the weather fails, Karlsundsbadet in Landskrona is a great place to enjoy a swim anyway.

Hiking in Landskrona

Explore nature with a lovely hike during your self-drive holiday or mini break in Landskrona. Here you can hike along the 23 km long trail, Skåneleden, which continues towards Helsingborg in the north and Kävlinge in the south.

The route consists of marked paths and roads with several smaller associated trails of different lengths and difficulty levels. Out on the routes there are also several sights worth visiting. Spend an active holiday in or near Landskrona and enjoy the beautiful Scanian nature.

Landskrona Museum

At Landskrona Museum you can experience the museum's eight permanent exhibitions, the 'Nell' studio, which is a workshop for the whole family, and the Swedish Advertising Archive, which has its own room at the museum. Take the family on a cultural and historical excursion and discover art, memories and finds in Landskrona.

The museum offers free admission and there really is something for all the family. See the works of Carl Frederik Reuterswärd, visit the fact room 'memorial bank' and pick carrots in the garden. Landskrona Citadel

A stay in Landskrona is not complete without visiting the city's castle, also known as Landskrona Citadel. The castle was built back in the 1540s by the Danish King Christian III and was used as a defence against Swedish enemies.

Here you are welcome to walk around the castle and enjoy the castle park and surrounding green areas. You can also have a coffee in the café or enjoy a picnic on the grass. Take the opportunity to visit the Rothoffska Museum and Garden, housed in a charming 1903 cottage.

The castle is often used for events, conferences, weddings and various celebrations. Other activities offered include guided tours, ghost walks, "behind bars", "prisoners in the castle" and crime mysteries.

Kitesurfing paradise

Lundåkra Bay, south of Landskrona, is a kitesurfing paradise and was one of the first places in Sweden to take up the sport. In the bay, the weather conditions are considered to be quite good for kitesurfing and in Lundåkra Bay in particular, the low coast makes the wind and waves perfect for the sport.

A fun activity for those looking for an active holiday and perhaps wanting to try something new and exciting.

Helsingborg

Although Helsingborg is a small city, it has a big heart and a lot to offer, including a cosy atmosphere and beautiful surrounding nature.

Take a stroll along the promenade in "Norra Hamnen", an experience for those who like to eat well and go shopping, while preserving a beautiful view over the Sound to the west. Helsingborg has about 500 shops, which are spread all over the city, but with most shops located in Kullagatan, Bruksgatan, Dronninggatan, Järnvägsgatan and Storgatan. "Väla Centrum" is the largest shopping centre in southern Sweden and is located about 6 km from the centre of Helsingborg.

As for culture, you might want to start in the "Dunkers Kulturhus", which hosts exciting and changing exhibitions, as well as various galleries and an international music scene.

´Fredriksdal´ is a large open-air museum with everything that goes with it, farmhouses, manor houses and town quarters and there is also a large park with various livestock and a very special rose garden. And don't forget to visit the watchtower, 'Kärnan', which has watched over Helsingborg for more than 700 years and is also the city's landmark. From ´Kärnan´ there is also an incredible view over the Øresund all the way to Helsingør, which is 4 km away, on the other side of the Sound. Dunkers Culture House

Find a mini holiday to Sweden at Risskov and surround yourself in a world of culture and modern art at Dunkers Kulturhus in Helsingborg. Ven

Ven is a scenic island in the Øresund, located between Denmark and Skåne, and is best known for its beautiful scenery and many good hiking and cycling routes. The island is just under 12 km in circumference and is a perfect destination for a day trip when the weather is suitable. For those who wish to stay overnight on the island, this is also possible, but it is both easy and quick to get there and back from Landskrona and here you have a more central base for a longer stay.

During a summer holiday in or near Landskrona, it's a great idea to take a trip to the beautiful island. From Landskrona you can enjoy a pleasant ferry ride of just 30 minutes to Ven, which is very popular during the summer months.

Ven is best experienced on two wheels and you can either bring bikes on the ferry itself or choose to rent a bike on the island. M/S Maritime Museum

Book a cheap mini break or a cheap weekend break for the whole family and visit the fascinating underground museum, M/S Museet for Søfart, in Elsinore. Designed by world-renowned architects BIG and led by Bjarke Ingels, the museum was built in 2013 directly into the dry dock between Kronborg and Kulturværftet. Beautiful sloping bridges lead you into a colourful world of exciting exhibitions, film projections and maritime collections that together tell Denmark's amazing history as a maritime nation through the ages.

Kronborg

Find a cheap holiday at Risskov and discover the many historic cities around the country. Find a car holiday in Denmark with child-friendly hotels and go on a historical experience. One of the gems on the historical map is certainly Elsinore, which is known to be the setting for probably one of the most famous buildings in Denmark. The old fortress and castle originally dates back to the 13th century, first known as Krogen and later, in the 1500s, renamed Kronborg Castle. Immortalized in Shakespeare's famous "Hamlet", where the same, Prince of Kronborg, uttered the famous words: "To be or not to be - that is the question."

A slightly different question, however, that the owners of the ships sailing through the Sound had to ask themselves was why they had to pay duty to be allowed to sail their ships in and out of the Baltic Sea, through the Sound. But Kronborg's strategic location at the very tip, at the narrowest point of the Sound, gives a good idea of the impact the cannonballs could have on the fragile merchant ships that carried goods through the Sound, if customs duties were not paid to the Danish treasury. The duty was only abolished in 1857 with the payment of a hefty compensation to the Danish treasury.

There are several different tours around Kronborg, but the trip down into the casemates, the cellars under Kronborg, is an experience in itself. Visit the famous Danish warrior, Holger Danske, who sleeps in the cellar, where legend has it that he will wake from his sleep the moment Denmark is in danger.

Adjacent to Kronborg is the M/S Maritime Museum, which is a great experience, especially after it was moved to the old dry dock in 2013, giving it new opportunities to showcase its many interesting artefacts.
