About the hotel

Lichtenberg Palace, now known as Jørgensens Hotel, was built by the respected merchant Gerhdt de Lichtenberg. The original building was transformed into a magnificent Baroque mansion in 1744, showing off the owner’s success and wealth with extravagant decorations such as painted ceilings, a private art chamber and a collection of rare weapons. The palace was sold in 1813 and converted into an inn, marking the beginning of his hospitality legacy.

The hotel is a unique experience of art, design and history. It has undergone a complete refurbishment, including the arrival of restoration experts from the Vatican to bring back the original charm of the paintings on the ceilings. The antique feel goes hand in hand with the modern, sophisticated design found in the bar, lounge, and restaurant areas.
