Beautiful hotel with a central location.

Lovely stay - very fine food, maybe a bit too fine for people our age and a little disappointed that they forgot "a little greeting from the kitchen" 🤓 Horsens is a beautiful and cozy town . . .

About the hotel
Jørgensens Hotel in Horsens provides a unique experience that extends beyond mere accommodations. The elegant 4-star hotel occupies a beautifully restored baroque mansion from the 18th century and is recognized for its commitment to excellence.
About the hotel
Lichtenberg Palace, now known as Jørgensens Hotel, was built by the respected merchant Gerhdt de Lichtenberg. The original building was transformed into a magnificent Baroque mansion in 1744, showing off the owner’s success and wealth with extravagant decorations such as painted ceilings, a private art chamber and a collection of rare weapons. The palace was sold in 1813 and converted into an inn, marking the beginning of his hospitality legacy.
The hotel is a unique experience of art, design and history. It has undergone a complete refurbishment, including the arrival of restoration experts from the Vatican to bring back the original charm of the paintings on the ceilings. The antique feel goes hand in hand with the modern, sophisticated design found in the bar, lounge, and restaurant areas.
Jørgensens Hotel boasts an array of facilities including a restaurant, a café, a wine bar, wine shop and a terrace bar. There is no doubt that the cornerstone of the experience at Hotel Jørgensens is gastronomy. The acclaimed restaurant Restaurant Eydes serves French-Danish cuisine. Savour a variety of gourmet dishes prepared with fresh, local ingredients in the beautifully renovated basement restaurant. In the café you can have lighter meals. The bar offers cold draught beer, refreshing cocktails, and a fine selection of wines from all over the world, complemented by snacks, tasty charcuterie, and small dishes. When the weather gets warmer the terrace in front of the hotel is turned into a trendy bar, usually packed with locals and visitors of Horsens.
Rooms
Jørgensens Hotel offers an absolutely unique hotel room experience - you won't find anything like it anywhere else! The rooms are a reflection of the historic Lichtenberg Palace in which the hotel is located, with a wealth of distinctive details and character. Had a single overnight stay with an accompanying gourmet dinner. Fantastic experience, the food was a huge surprise, some of the best we've tried in a very long time. The staff were super helpful and absolutely first-class service during dinner. Traveled as a couple with friends.

It takes a lot for me to give 5 stars. But here it was truly something unique. The only downside is that it's a long way up to the room on the 2 1/2 floor from the restaurant in the basement after a lovely dinner! It's a listed building and therefore not possible to install an elevator. On the other hand, it is well-preserved, beautifully restored, and exciting. Good beds and fantastic food.
