The Cable Park

If you're bold and adventurous, visit The Cable Park at Halmsjön near Arlanda Airport. Here you can water-ski, but instead of being pulled by a boat, you'll be pulled by an electric-powered track. Not only is it great fun, it's also very climate-friendly.

Kvisthamrabacken

Find a cheap hotel stay at Risskov and come on a wonderful winter holiday to Kvisthamrabacken. In winter there are skiing opportunities in Kvisthamrabacken. There are four slopes of varying difficulty. Weather permitting, the snow cannons are brought out and Kvisthamrabacken is covered in snow. There are toilets and a kiosk in the warming room, and you can grill at the barbecue area and bring your own packed lunch. Norrtälje

Norrtälje is a city that has something to offer everyone - young and old. Among other things, you will find a wide range of cultural activities. Should the weather turn out to be at its best, a visit to Norrtälje Museum, Norrtälje Konsthall or Phytagoras Industrial Museum is recommended, where you can gain further insight into Norrtälje's cultural heritage; past, present and future.

Old Uppsala

It's really worth taking the time to visit Gamla Uppsala, one of Scandinavia's strangest archaeological sites. Take a look at one of the three majestic royal burial mounds - Uppsala Högar - from the 500s, or at one of the largest burial grounds in Scandinavia and the remains of the cathedral, which was built in the 12th century.

The place is mythical and has become famous abroad in recent years because of the TV series "Vikings". Take the opportunity to learn more about how it all happened back then.

The Viking village of Storholmen

A popular excursion is to the Viking town of Storholmen, a 15-minute drive from Norrtälje. During the summer you can see and learn more about the Viking Age and the crafts and activities of the Vikings. Why not take the opportunity and try your hand at glass bead making, blacksmithing, crafts or baking your own bread. In the exhibition hall you will find information about the everyday life of the Vikings and you will also be able to see reconstructed objects and models. The Viking village of Storholmen also offers guided tours, storytelling, adventure and souvenir sales. Guesthouse, pizzeria and beach are within walking distance.

Steninge Slot

In Steninge, outside Märsta, you will find Steninge Castle. The building dates back to 18th century and the castle park is open to the public. You can also visit Steningeladen nearby and look at local handicrafts or you can grab a bite to eat and a cup of coffee.

The Gocart Centre in Uppsala

If you like speed and excitement, the Gocart Centre in Uppsala is a perfect destination. Here you can book corporate events and action-packed evenings with family and friends. You're also welcome to just drop in and drive a few laps.

It is also possible to rent a Segway and explore Uppsala on a Segway sightseeing.

Wira Bruk

You can also visit Wira Bruk, which is a gunsmith's workshop and was the country's first swordsmith. Back in the day, the blacksmith's workshop had the exclusive right to manufacture swords for the Swedish Royal Family. Today it is a vibrant and beautiful industrial environment.
