Hotell Nostalgi is beautifully located directly on the harbour in the charming Swedish town of Motala. The popular Motala Motor Museum is next door and the town centre is just a short walk away, with many cosy shops, restaurants and cafés. Spend some lovely days with a mini break in tranquil maritime surroundings.
Located directly on the Motala pier, you can enjoy the canal boats gliding by on the Göta Canal, which flows into Sweden's second largest lake, Vättern. Motala is particularly characterised by its maritime atmosphere and is known for being home to Scandinavia's most popular motor museum, Motala Motormuseum. The museum actually shares a building with the hotel and during your stay you have the opportunity to explore the exciting exhibits, which include not only a range of classic cars but also other nostalgic items, free of charge.
From the hotel, you are just a short stroll to the town's cosy centre, where you will find shops and cafés, as well as lovely countryside and several of the beaches around Lake Vättern within a short distance. There are also several interesting towns within easy driving distance, such as Borensberg, Vadstena and Linnköping, but also Norrköping if you are ready for a longer excursion.
In the morning, you'll get a great start to the day with a delicious buffet breakfast and fresh coffee. In the evening, tasty meals are served in the large, bright Restaurant Rönnerdahls, where you have a lovely view of Lake Vättern. Weather permitting, you can also enjoy your meal on the veranda.
The hotel offers parking for a small daily fee and free wireless internet access during your stay.
Hotell Nostalgi has 22 modern rooms named after classic cars, creating a small red thread to the motor museum. Single, double and twin rooms with one or two extra beds are available.
All rooms are en suite and equipped with comfortable beds, a work desk, telephone and LCD TV.
