Borås offers both city life and rural idyll, as well as a wide range of activities, culture and beautiful nature. Borås offers many outdoor activities whether you are on a summer or winter holiday. Go hiking, discover the ski slopes, go fishing or how about a kayak trip?
Borås is best known for its textile industry and public art. Take the opportunity to discover the city's museums, Borås Art Museum, the Textile Museum and Borås Museum. The city centre is also filled with hundreds of sculptures and impressive murals.
If you're visiting Borås in the summer, it's a good idea to bring your swimwear. There are a number of lovely places where you can swim with a sandy beach or with green areas. Some of the best bathing spots are Kypesjöns, Sandared and Frufällan.

Borås Art Museum is located in Kulturhuset and houses several national and international works of art. Here you will find everything from modern art to an interactive art workshop.
Borås Cultural History Museum is an open-air museum with historic buildings, green areas and a museum. Stop by Sjuhards village and Ramnakyrkan church, which dates back to the 17th century, and finish the day with a coffee at Café Gästis. In summer, you can go on a picnic and dance around the maypole. In winter you can go sleigh riding and visit the Christmas market.
Borås Zoo
Borås Animal Park is located just a few kilometres from the centre of Borås and a visit to the park is always a wonderful experience for animal lovers. In the zoo you can get close to everything from African animals to Nordic wildlife. Visit the majestic elephants, the bushy monkeys, the king of the forest, the moose, or the European lynx.
Stop by the dinosaurs in Dinopark, or fire up Simbaland for a guided tour. A visit to Borås Zoo is a definite favourite with the kids and a fun experience for the whole family.
The zoo is usually open from the end of March to the end of September.
