About the hotel

The 4-star Hotel zur alten Post is among the oldest hotels located on the German west coast, dating back to 1889. In 2016, the hotel underwent an extensive renovation, which today stands crisp and elegant, while managing to preserve its historic soul.

The renovation also saw the creation of the hotel's inviting Vinotek, which opened its doors for the first time in 2017.

Büsum is an extremely charming little coastal town with a long tradition of fishing. Over time, the town has become more modern, and has developed in line with its growing popularity, but the old virtues, traditions and not least the very special atmosphere of the town, have been kept completely intact and authentic.

The main attraction on the north-west German coast is of course the Wadden Sea National Park, which offers unique walks on the seabed, guided tours, exciting excursions and various activities. In addition, there are several other towns nearby, such as Friedrichsstadt, St. Peter-Ording, Husum and Westerhever, which are all definitely worth experiencing.

Hotel zur alten Post has 50 beautiful and atmospheric rooms, offering a delicious 4-star comfort level. The neat double rooms are bright and spacious. All rooms have private bath and toilet, and are equipped with hairdryer, desk, armchairs, safe, mini fridge, telephone, and HD TV with Sky TV package.

The hotel has rooms in the historic building (3 stars) and in the new building (4 stars). Rooms are allocated either in the new building or the historic building depending on availability. Guests bringing dogs are generally allocated rooms in the historic building.
