Ponte di Tiberio

Il Ponte di Tiberio is known in English as the Tiberius Bridge. Construction was begun by Augustus shortly before his death in 14 AD and the bridge was completed 7 years later in 21 AD. In the meantime, a new emperor, Tiberius, had arrived, and the bridge was named after him. The beautiful and historic bridge spanned the Marecchia River in Rimini for many years, but in the 20th century the river was partially diverted to avoid devastating floods. Today the bridge crosses a narrow canal instead.

Castel Sismondo

When you head into Rimini's historic centre, don't miss the stunning Castel Sismondo. The ancient castle can easily be overlooked as it is hidden behind Piazza Cavour and Teatro Galli. But not only is the castle stunning and impressive to look at, it's also almost a portal into Italy's medieval history.

Rimini

Rimini is known as one of Italy's popular seaside resorts, but that doesn't mean it doesn't have more to offer. Rimini is a historic city where you can still see many signs of its historical past. From the ancient Roman Empire, for example, you can still see the Tiberius Bridge, which is still used today, as well as the remains of the great amphitheatre, which in its day could hold 15,000 people. Rimini is of course popular for its beautiful sandy beaches, but the harbour is also worth a look when the small fishing boats set sail in the morning. In the old town's narrow streets, you'll find many cosy cafés and shops, and the town is also a great place to shop, with a market taking place pretty much every day.

Arco di Augusto

Go on a cheap summer holiday in Italy and discover the historic Triumphal Arch in Rimini. The vault was built as far back as 27 BC and is one of the oldest surviving Roman triumphal arches. The beautiful arch is dedicated to Gaius Julius Caesar Augustus at a time when the emperor was consolidating his individual power. It was the beginning of the so-called Pax Romana; a peaceful and prosperous period in which several major building projects were undertaken - not least the Tiberius Bridge, for which construction actually began under Augustus, shortly before his death in 14 AD. Tempio Malatestiano

The Tempio Malatestiano (Malatesta Temple) has been the cathedral of the diocese of Rimini since 1809. It is a famous and classic example of Renaissance architecture and perhaps one of Rimini's most illustrious monuments. Construction began in 1446 under the orders of the head of Rimini, the nobleman Sigismundo Pandolfo Malatesta. The work was completed in 1460, when Malatesta was excommunicated. At that time, the church was still unfinished and it has remained incomplete until today.

Rimini Fiabilandia

Visit Rimini Fiabilandia, an amusement park where the whole family can have a fun day. The park dates back to 1965 and is one of Italy's oldest amusement parks. In the park you can experience all kinds of fun rides such as Merlin's Castle, the Gold Mine, the Space Mouse and much more!

Riccione

Visit the town of Riccione, located between Cattolica and Rimini. In fact, as the towns have grown, the 3 towns have almost merged together and are like pearls in a row. Riccione has a lot of older villas, gardens and green areas.

Riccione is a relatively new town that first became a famous seaside resort in the 1950s. Unlike Rimini, Riccione is mainly inhabited by Italian tourists during the summer months. The town offers good shopping facilities for clothes, shoes, etc., as well as a wide selection of bars, cafés and restaurants.

Oltremare

An experience for the whole family is the impressive Oltremare Water Park, a large park offering a variety of natural experiences. The attraction is very popular, and not without reason. Here you can see sea turtles and lots of dolphins, and other animals that live in the water. There are also different species of birds such as pelicans, owls and even falconry. A wonderful attraction that you could spend the whole day at.

Cattolica

Cattolica is a lively seaside resort, suitable for both families and younger people. The town has quite a pleasant old centre with some fine shops. Stroll around the town and enjoy the fine squares with the beautiful fountains and continue along the pleasant promenade. In the centre, it is especially important to have a closer look at the "Piazza delle Sirene", which is the absolute centre of events during the summer. This is where you can soak up the charming atmosphere. Often there are people performing.
