Plzen

Plzen is a city with a lot to offer! The city is located where four rivers meet. Here you will find the world-famous Pilsner Urquell brewery. At the brewery you can taste the beer directly at the restaurant "Na Spilce". This unique brewery museum is among the oldest of its kind and is visited by large numbers of tourists every year. The engineering company Skoda was also founded in Plzen in the mid-1800s. The oldest Central European armoury is part of the Museum of Western Bohemia. Plzen is also home to the third largest synagogue in the world. It was built in the 19th century in the Neo-Romanesque style with oriental touches.

Saint Bartholomew Cathedral

St Bartholomew's Cathedral became a cathedral in 1993 and was classified as a church before that. The cathedral is built in Gothic style and dates from the 13th century. It is located at the main square of Plzen. It is not known exactly when the church was built, but it is believed that it was in 1295, at the same time as the city of Plzen was founded. The cathedral has been on the list of national cultural monuments in the Czech Republic since 1995.
