Hohwacht is a town located in the northeastern part of Kreis Plön in the German state of Schleswig-Holstein. Lütjenburg

From here there is a beautiful view of the eastern Holstein hills as well as the Baltic Sea and in fact it is possible to see all the way to Denmark from the top of the tower.

Lütjenburg is a living museum where a lot of "medieval" events and exciting activities are held. Adventure Jungle Land (Eventyrsland)

Bad Malente

Go on a driving holiday in Germany and visit the Malente region, located in eastern Schleswig-Holstein and home to just over 10,000 inhabitants. Take a walk in the beautiful "Holstein Switzerland". You might pass the 24-metre-high Holzberg Tower, from where you can get a fantastic panoramic view over the two large lakes, Dieksee and Kellersee, on either side of the tower. An active holiday is on the cards, with many hikes to as many as five of the area's lakes. Or how about taking a lovely boat trip on the unique "5-Lakes-Fahrt". The boat trip starts at Dieksee, and offers a great opportunity to see a larger part of the region in a short time - even from a wonderful and refreshing angle.

Just around the Holzberg Tower and Dieksee you'll also find Bad Malente Wildpark; a protected and beautiful woodland area covering 12 hectares where you can see wild boar and deer, among other things. Access to the park is free.

Plön

When you arrive in Plön, the first thing you see is the beautiful castle: grand and snow-white, the beautiful building towers over the town. The Renaissance castle was built back in the 17th century and was the seat of the Dukes of Plön until 1761. In the 1800s, the castle was also the summer residence of Crown Prince Frederik, later Frederik VIII.

Eutin

Eutin is a more than 1000 year old town, with several of the houses in the inner town more than 300 years old. The town's pedestrian market square is a natural centre of the town, where you can relax in one of the many cafés. From here you can go shopping in the pedestrian streets where you will find several shops. While you are in town, you should also visit the Eutin Castle, which is a museum today where you can have an interesting tour. You can also stop by the small spa park, where thousands of roses and rhododendrons adorn the grounds. Eutin is a great place to visit on a cheap self-drive holiday or cheap mini break in Germany. Just outside the town, you can also visit the hunting lodge at Ukleisee.

Kiel

Kiel has plenty to offer all year round. In summer, the city and harbour are really lively and there are great opportunities for swimming. In winter, the city hosts one of northern Germany's most popular Christmas markets, transforming the town square into a fairytale Christmas village. And at other times of the year, it's a great place for sightseeing, with everything from the 2. World War II history to the beautiful botanical gardens. Located on the Kielerfjord, Germany's largest ferry port is in Kiel, where maritime atmosphere and city life combine beautifully. Kiel is also one of the most popular shopping cities on the Baltic Sea with plenty of exciting boutiques. Take a stroll through the Old Town, where you can see St Nicholas' Church on Alter Markt with Ernst Barlach's figure of the Geistkämpfer. It's also worth visiting the Maritime Museum, housed in an old fish hall, and seeing the historic ships in the Museum Harbour.

Hansapark
