Hjortviken Country Club

Surrounded by deep forests and set right by the tranquil Lake Nedsjön, Hjortviken Country Club offers couples a stylish and relaxing retreat just 25 minutes from Gothenburg. This lakeside getaway strikes a balance between relaxed comfort and a touch of luxury—ideal for slowing down, enjoying nature, and sharing meaningful moments together.

About the hotel

Hjortviken is designed for comfort, connection, and curated experiences. At the heart of it all is Sweden’s largest Pool Club, a 1,700 m² wellness oasis with indoor and outdoor pools, saunas, 90 sunbeds, fire lounges, and a swim-up bar. Whether you're sipping cocktails in the water, sunbathing on the terrace, or enjoying a quiet moment in the sauna, it’s easy to unwind and feel at home.

The hotel also invites you to disconnect with intention. Rooms are screen-free, encouraging a digital detox. Instead, you’ll find calming interiors, a Marshall speaker for music, and views of the surrounding forest or pool club.

For active couples, there’s plenty to enjoy: a custom-designed gym, padel courts, boules, croquet, and easy access to hiking, cycling, and skiing trails. You can also rent bikes or take a walk along the lake to fully embrace the nature around you.

When it’s time to dine, you have two excellent options: The Club Room, serving modern Swedish cuisine in a cosy, elegant setting, and Bay Bay, a lively lakeside restaurant offering Spanish-inspired sharing plates. With five bars spread throughout the property, there’s always a perfect spot for a drink, whether you’re in the mood for a crafted cocktail or a glass of wine under the stars.

Rooms

The rooms at Hjortviken are warm, cosy, and thoughtfully furnished. The Club Small Double is ideal for two, offering a comfortable bed, private bathroom with shower, minibar, and soft lighting. There’s no TV—just relaxing décor, blackout curtains, and your own music via the Marshall speaker. It’s all about creating a calm and homelike space where you can fully switch off, slow down, and enjoy each other’s company.
