Friendly service, good breakfast and dinner. We stayed there for two nights and had a nice stay. I see some complaints about the food, but there is absolutely no reason for that. 👍😊

When we arrived, the staff knew nothing about the stay including dinner and breakfast. It was almost uncomfortable. More information should be provided to those working at the place.

Dølmotunet - Tolga
The moth is a living 'farm museum' in the centre of the charming town of Tolga. There are nine houses, stables, lots of animals for children to meet and during the summer there are lots of activities including exhibitions, markets and concerts. Be sure to check the Dølmotunet calendar for a list of current events.
M/S Storsjø
During a holiday near Koppang it is a good idea to take a
boat trip on Storsjøen. The historic boat M/S Storsjø was launched for the first time
back in the spring of 1912, and was originally produced to transport
timber. Now the boat, after being used on Lake Mjøsa for more than 20
years, is back in Storsjøen, and today tourist trips are offered starting from
Dampbåtvika, at the northern end of the lake, every year in July.
The living painting 'Winter Night in Rondane'
In 1901, artist Harald Sohlberg painted the famous painting 'Winter in Rondane' from a lookout in Sohlbergplassen. The beautiful sight is depicted with mountains with a bluish light, and over time the painting has also become a Norwegian national treasure.
Slegghaugan
Slag is the waste product that remains after the copper has gone through the smelting process. 'Slegghaugan' or Slag Mound reminds us of the enormous activity that has gone on for over 300 years in both mining and copper smelting. At the top of the slag heap there is a beautiful view over the Bergstaden. Both the Slegghaugan and Malmplass areas are protected by the Norwegian Cultural Heritage Act.
Not far from Slegghaugan is Sleggvejen, also known as 'Pippigatan', as an episode of Astrid Lindgren's story about Pippi Longstocking was filmed in the very same street.
Melting hut
In 'Smelthytta' visitors can see the exciting exhibition showing the history of Røros copper works through the ages, including different working processes in the extraction of copper from the mines, and the production of copper in the smelters. The exhibition is complemented by moving models that make it both easier and more fun to follow, for both adults and children.
The exhibition 'Ti finpussa' shows Røro's stoneware from the 19th century and there are also changing art and theme exhibitions.
Doktortjønna Open Air Park
The large outdoor park at Doktortjønna is only a 5-minute walk from the centre of Røros. The park is the perfect place to go if the kids are having a great day. The park is the perfect place for families and children and there are lots of activities going on. There is a zoo, climbing, playing, fishing, rowing or paddling, and don't forget a ride on the Elias boat. There are also many beautiful trails in the area that either lead up to Kvitsandas or the lake. So, should you have any strength left, go on one of these wonderful walks.
Christmas market in Røros
Open 4th - 7th December - You can visit the Christmas market's own website with current information.
The heritage town of Røros is transformed into a real winter adventure every December. Here the charming streets are decorated for Christmas, the colourful houses are wrapped in a white blanket of snow and the cosy streets buzz with Christmas stalls tempting visitors with traditional Christmas treats, crafts and gift ideas.
The Christmas market in Røros is an atmospheric event for both young and old. In addition to around 50 small stalls, there are elves in the streets, carol singing, horse-drawn sleigh rides and other activities.
