Ordrupgaard

The state-owned art museum is located north of Copenhagen at Jægersborg Dyrehave and houses one of Northern Europe's most important collections of Danish and French art from the 19th century up to the beginning of the 20th century. The exhibition itself has a very special history, and there is no doubt that this collection is a true revelation of some of the finest Impressionism to be found in Denmark. Enjoy names like Delacroix, Corot, Courbet, Degas, Matisse, Monet, Cézanne, Gauguin and Renoir at the Ordrupgaard Collection. The park in front of Ordrupgaard is landscaped with a French-inspired rose garden. Originally there was a ceramic fountain by Jean Gauguin, but it has now been moved to the Winter Garden.

Ballerup

Go on a car holiday in Denmark with Riskkov Bilferie on Zealand. Visit Ballerup which is located about 16 km. outside the centre of Copenhagen. Here you can enjoy some peace and quiet when you need a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, but at the same time don't want to be too far away from the pleasures of the big city.

Ballerup's swimming pool Ballerup East Kilbride The swimming pool dates back to 1971 and is named after a twin town. The bath was once an open-air bath, but today it has large indoor facilities. The permanent superstructure was added in 1993. In addition to the large pool, the baths offer a warm water pool, a lovely spa and water massage jets. This very special cemetery is located in Nørrebro in Copenhagen, and was initially created when there was a lack of space within the ramparts. But Assistens Cemetery is particularly well known as a number of famous people are buried here. But the beautiful cemetery is also a testament to the passage of history and so is certainly worth a visit. Visit H.C. Andersens, Kierkegaard, Eckersberg, Scherfig, Niels Bohr and Etta Cameron's graves, to name just a few of the Danish celebrities who lie in rest at Assistenskirkegården. The National Museum of Art

SMK is an acronym for the State Art Museum, which is located in the centre of Copenhagen and exhibits both art and art history from the last 700 years. SMK is a varied mix of old and new art, and you can see works by Nolde, Anna Ancher, Hammershøj, Munch and Rubens, to name but a few. But the SMK is probably best known for its incredible collection of Danish Golden Age art and its quite spectacular collection of French art from 1900 to 1930, with famous artists such as Matisse and Picasso. There are also ongoing exhibitions of a special calibre and so it is well and truly impossible not to get full value for time spent at the National Museum of Art. Take part in the many activities the museum organises for both children and adults and enjoy an exciting day among the great artists.

Copenhagen
