New, modern, and if it would use the Danish language alongside English, then even some of the older guests would understand the how and where.

Lyngby
Go on a car holiday in Denmark with Risskov and find cheap hotels for the trip both when it's summer holiday and winter holiday. Find child-friendly hotels near Copenhagen and visit Kongens Lyngby for a bit of shopping. There are great shopping opportunities here, including Magasin du Nord and Lyngby Storcenter.
King's Lyngby is also characterised by the many castles located in the vicinity of the city. Visit Sorgenfri Castle, for example, which has been home to royalty for many generations and where you will find a fine palace garden, most of which is open to the public.
Also visit Sophienholm, which has a lovely location down by Bagsværd Lake. In the immediate vicinity you will also find Marienborg and the Hermitage Palace. Find cheap hotels in the area at Risskov and set off on a trip full of experiences in and near Lyngby.
Ordrupgaard
The state-owned art museum is located north of Copenhagen at Jægersborg Dyrehave and houses one of Northern Europe's most important collections of Danish and French art from the 19th century up to the beginning of the 20th century. The exhibition itself has a very special history, and there is no doubt that this collection is a true revelation of some of the finest Impressionism to be found in Denmark. Enjoy names like Delacroix, Corot, Courbet, Degas, Matisse, Monet, Cézanne, Gauguin and Renoir at the Ordrupgaard Collection. The park in front of Ordrupgaard is landscaped with a French-inspired rose garden. Originally there was a ceramic fountain by Jean Gauguin, but it has now been moved to the Winter Garden.
Gentofte
The church is Gentoftes oldest building from the 1100s and Denmark's second oldest church.
Take a walk in Bernstorffsparken, a real palace park surrounding Bernstorff Castle - the former summer home of the royal family with a lovely rose garden.
Visit Kildeskovshallen with its beautiful swimming pool and panoramic windows. 2 pools to choose from and a children's pool too. Kildeskovshallen is open all year round, except Christmas and New Year.
Dyrehavsbakken
Visit Dyrehavsbakken, which is the equivalent of Tivoli - colloquially Bakken. Bakken is an amusement park wrapped in nature, as it is located in the area's largest forest. The amusement park is a paradise for both adults and children. As you enter Dyrehaven, through Klampenborg's red main gate, horse-drawn carriages are waiting to take you around Dyrehaven and past the royal hunting lodge, Eremitage, which sits on the highest point of the Eremitage plain. The park is open from late March to late August every day between 2pm and midnight.
Experimentarium
Find a summer or winter holiday to Copenhagen at Risskov. There's plenty to do and see in the capital, especially if the kids are along for the ride. One of the great experiences is in Hellerup, and after a major renovation, fire and a whole incredible effort, Experimentarium has reopened its doors at its usual address in Tuborg Havn in Hellerup and is an obvious place to visit on a cheap self-drive holiday. The whole of Denmark's science centre is once again ready to surprise and amaze its visitors, who can try out for themselves the many experiments that are just waiting to tell them why, how and what will happen when the basic concepts of science are put to the test. Also try the world's first interactive cinema based on motion sensors, where everyone must help fight the dark mists to help the girl Anna. With brand new exhibitions following its reopening in January 2017, it's no surprise that Experimentarium comes in at a special place on the dining list of great family experiences. For the kids, a whole new world opens up and for the adults, it's nice to shake up the principles at first hand and learn a lot of new things at the same time. Experimentarium is an ideal destination for a family holiday in Denmark.
Superkilen
Superkilen is a public recreational space in Nørrebro designed by Bjarke Ingels Group, Superflex and Topotek1. Equipped with a playground, various fitness equipment and swing benches the park is popular among families and skaters too. Superkilen has great places to have a picnic. Superkilen is characterised by its paved neon red, pink and orange colours and covers the area between Mimersgade and Nørrebrogade. There are also cafés, which help to create a good and cosy atmosphere. Bring the kids, who will enjoy playing in the 'hilly' landscape, filled with happy colours and art.
Hjortespring Golf Club
Summer holiday on Zealand with golf on the menu? Then book a cheap hotel stay nearby and stop by Hjortespring Golf Club! The golf club is open both winter and summer and definitely worth a visit for golf enthusiasts who need a mini break or just a weekend break in the Zealand countryside. Or perhaps a dedicated golf holiday? You can read more on their website: http://hjgk.dk/
Assistens Cemetery
This very special cemetery is located in Nørrebro in Copenhagen, and was initially created when there was a lack of space within the ramparts. But Assistens Cemetery is particularly well known as a number of famous people are buried here. But the beautiful cemetery is also a testament to the passage of history and so is certainly worth a visit. Visit H.C. Andersens, Kierkegaard, Eckersberg, Scherfig, Niels Bohr and Etta Cameron's graves, to name just a few of the Danish celebrities who lie in rest at Assistenskirkegården. Take a city break or weekend break in Copenhagen and visit this beautiful and historic place.
The National Museum of Art
SMK is an acronym for the State Art Museum, which is located in the centre of Copenhagen and exhibits both art and art history from the last 700 years. SMK is a varied mix of old and new art, and you can see works by Nolde, Anna Ancher, Hammershøj, Munch and Rubens, to name but a few. But the SMK is probably best known for its incredible collection of Danish Golden Age art and its quite spectacular collection of French art from 1900 to 1930, with famous artists such as Matisse and Picasso. There are also ongoing exhibitions of a special calibre and so it is well and truly impossible not to get full value for time spent at the National Museum of Art. Take part in the many activities the museum organises for both children and adults and enjoy an exciting day among the great artists.
Torvehallerne
The very large market offers everything from the most exquisite chocolate to fresh fish. There are small eateries and the smell of exotic spices mixed with freshly brewed coffee is part of the experience. There are over 60 stalls with colourful and fragrant offerings of gastronomic delicacies. Eat on site or take your food home, the choice is yours.
Copenhagen
Try a car holiday in Denmark and discover the capital Copenhagen at your own pace on a family self-drive holiday. There's plenty to see, so be sure to arrange a cheap hotel stay with us beforehand. Then you can get started exploring the Danish capital. Firstly, make sure you stop by one of Denmark's landmarks; The Little Mermaid. The Little Mermaid is the biggest tourist attraction in Denmark and one of the most photographed statues in the world. Walking past Amalienborg is also a must on your trip to Copenhagen. Christiansborg, the Round Tower and Rosenborg are among other sights to pass by. Of course, you should also take a stroll along Strøget, which starts at Rådhuspladsen and continues down to Kongens Nytorv. Here, shopping opportunities abound. If you continue across Kongens Nytorv, you'll come to Nyhavn. Nyhavn is at once modern Copenhagen's most popular and vibrant meeting place and an attraction of historical importance. It is also possible to find cheap weekend breaks at Risskov, so take a summer or winter break and experience a self-drive holiday in the capital.
